The STEEL DETAILERS INSTITUTE OF BRITISH COLUMBIA (SDIBC) is an institute established in 1995, under the provisions of the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians (ASTT) Act, to represent the professionally certified steel detailers of British Columbia.

With the support and cooperation of the Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC)... a self governing, professional association whose mandate is to advance the profession of Applied Science Technology and the professional recognition and career development of Applied Science Technologists, Certified Technicians and other members in a manner that serves and protects the public interest... the Steel Detailing Special Certification Program was created.
